Maids of Honour by another name?

These seem similar to the cakes that, in Britain, they call ‘Maids of Honour’ and some months ago, spotting them in a favourite tea-shop, they set me off wondering about the potential for double-entendre and vulgarity in many food names. Maids of Honour cakes were apparantly named by Henry VIII.

Without a shred of embarrassment we buy Bloody Marys to wash down our Stinky Bishop cheese and so on, and in return lots of things and body-parts get given food names – I am sure there are lots more …
