All designed objects are propaganda for a certain way of life.
Sometimes we need to stop analysing the past, stop planning the future, stop figuring out precisely how we feel, stop deciding exactly what we want, and just see what happens.
We are not the same persons this year as last; nor are those we love. It is a happy chance if we, changing, continue to love a changed person.

New Path – Pen Y Gwryd to Pen Y Pass – Snowdonia National CarPark

Ok so we are paving over paradise – official! Apart from the fact that pedestrians don’t seem to know the correct side of the road on which to walk; why can’t the road be shared? There are already paths from PyG to PyP. Is that why there are all those tracks on the slope around Eckenstein’s Boulder at the moment? PyG at night now looks more like Blackpool than a wilderness area. Parking in existing towns ONLY and better buses please. NO TO MORE PARKING IN THE NATIONAL (CAR)PARK.

MORE (punctual) BUSES NOW It was done during the foot and [

Wild Camping – The Law in the UK

It would be great if you could just put up a tent wherever you like for the night, but not surprisingly there’s a rules, regulations and laws on when and where you can camp. The most important factor is which side of the border you’re on, with the law in Scotland radically different to those covering England and Wales. In short wild camping in Scotland is a right, whereas in the rest of the UK there is no automatic right without express permission from the relevant landowner.

Row over new Snowdon path surface

Snowdonia National Park Authority prove they are blithering fools without the sense, vision or understanding to care for the land in their charge.

A project to create a tarmac surface on part of a path on Snowdon has been criticised.

The Miners’ Track is a popular starting point for walkers attempting [

want to buy a patch of heaven?

Two mountain peaks in Snowdonia which are going under the hammer are expected to fetch £1m.

The summits of Moel Cynghorion and Foel Goch, which command views over Snowdonia National Park, are up for auction on Friday.

The remote peaks adjacent to Snowdon come with 1,000 acres (four sq km) of moorland, some derelict outbuildings, a stream and rough grazing.

The auction follows the sale of the Vyrnwy estate tourist spot in Powys.

The parcel of land at Snowdonia is known as Helfa Fawr, and is two miles from Llanberis. It borders the Snowdon mountain railway.

survey adds 8ft to Tryfan mountain’s height

One of Wales’ “elite” peaks has grown in stature after an official measurement to verify its height.

It was feared Tryfan, in Snowdonia, could have fallen short of the 3,000ft (914m) elite mountain status needed to keep as one of Wales’ 14 highest peaks.

But enthusiasts who scaled it with GPS equipment found the [

The hat is the same colour as worn by my climbing club leader, Bill Dean, back in 1972-76 … so fashionistas beware. These Scottish balaclavas used to be completely de-rigeur in the hills but trends mean they are forgotten by most and Joe Brown’s said they are getting harder to find. I now have brown, red and this gold. When it gets REALLY cold you want stuff you know ‘just works’.

Price hike planned for Snowdonia’s highest car park

Good put it up higher. Close it except for emergency vehicles. Let’s go back to the no parking and excellent bus services of the foot & mouth outbreak! The buses are getting better but without the imperative of removing all parking outside of towns and villages in the park there is no reason for them to be excellent. £10 for up to 14 hours parking seems pretty cheap to me so I hope nobody is complaining. The car park at Pen-y-Pass is popular with walkers going up Snowdon
